About Dr Sylaidis

Otoplasty corrects prominent ears, by folding them back to a more desirable position. Excessively large ears may also need to be simultaneously reduced in size. Scars are placed behind the ears, hence are not directly observable. The operation can be performed at any age, but is common for children of 5 or 6 years of age to have this done. This usually coincides with their starting school, where they may be teased by other children.

All operations and invasive procedures carry some risk of complications.
Dr Sylaidis will discuss this with you and encourages seeking a second opinion.
